GOOD FRIDAY/EASTER

The Dutch Reform Church in George have their 200 year anniversary  and we are taking part in the Passion Play.   A wonderful experience and  the church was fully booked both evenings.

Have you ever experienced the thrill of seeing a  "Kill"    in the Kruger National Park.
The adrenalin is pumping and you are in such a state that you can hardly keep the
camera still.  Three cheetah's were chasing after the Impalas and then one the one in the photo
was not so lucky as to get away.  Only a few meters from our car.... the cheetah  was suffocating the
Impala..... only for a few minutes and then it was all over.  But I was lucky enough that I could
get these photos at that gruesome moment

THE BIG FIVE IN KRUGER PARK

During our holiday in August 2012 we stayed at the Kruger Lodge just
outside the Kruger National Park.
We were  very fortunate as to see wonderful sightings and herewith the proof of seeing the famous BIG FIVE.
On one occasion we saw three  lionesses with  seven cubs and here on one of the photos are two of them walking so close to our car that I could have toughed them
At the moment I think that the Kruger Park is overpopulated by elephants
and that they are doing a lot of damage to the trees  Every second tree's
bark is ripped off  or destroyed by the elephants.  What the outcome of this
will be in future is of BIG concern!
And we were more than blessed by seeing 4 Rhinos !!!  on three different
occasions.  Will our grandchildren be so fortunate to see them in future ??

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST DESTINATIONS IN THE WORLD AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT HOLIDAY IN THE NATIONAL KRUGER PARK NEXT YEAR !!!

At our recent holiday at the spectacular Vic Falls  I took this photo  of the brave ones  jumping from the bridge over the Zambezi river. (Wonder what happened to the Aussie girl that made history by falling in the river when the rope snapped. )
We stayed in the wonderful Vic Falls Hotel and enjoyed every moment of the luxury.  High Tea in the
afternoon on the veranda overlooking the Falls  was a delight . The evening dinners with the tribal dancers was most enjoyable.  We also went on a Zambezi river dinner cruise that we enjoyed and I took such beautiful   photos of the sunset (next blog)
The helicopter flight was just as exciting !
My advise.... this is one of the MUST TRIPS !
you can put it on your bucket list.

WHALES ARE HERE IN WILDERNESS WATERS

 Today the 3rd of July I saw the first Whales.
They are here !!!
I called our visiters from Gauteng and they were
thrilled to show their children what  the whales look like in real life. It is so thrilling..... this is where they come to for the mating period and sometimes you see them very active..... just head and tails!!  Not the best photo.... but will try to capture a better one.

The gateway to the Garden Route.  After a few days in Cape Town... take the N1 to Worcester and from there follow the road to Barrydale past all the most wonderful Wine Estates like Nuy and
Van Loveren . From Swellendam you will enjoy the luscious wheat farm scenery where surely you will see
the nation bird of S A the Blue Crane.  Only 4 hours
drive and you will be in the Garden Route and Rinkink Beach House
